Not long having released previous single “Pigfeed” (reviewed elsewhere on this ‘ere site) Skreamer are back with their anti-corruption “This is War” and another teaser for their upcoming second album, the first of which received much praise in publications such as Metal Hammer creating a huge increase to their online following.
Carrying on from where “Pigfeed” started the new track is a continuation of their modern nu-metal style, kicking off with the brutal slap bass of founding member Serg Ronchetti “This is War” has Skreamer providing another song where you can imagine crowds of angry metallers gathering in the pit to shout along to the track.
There’s also the production, more attention has been put into making the guitar parts stand out, whereby the first single was all about the short sharp delivery “This is War” has an early Machine Head vibe about it. There’s a slight hint of a guitar solo and a drum beat that shows the speed these guys can potentially play at, before ending just as it had started with Ronchetti’s bass bringing it to a close.
With a video already streaming on social media for “Pigfeed” and by releasing “This is War” as a free download, Skreamer are creating even more anticipation about that difficult second album and the follow up to 2012’s “Blackened Earth”, resulting in two singles that are sure to get people talking and heads banging in appreciation.
